Communication
Good communication involves the skill to listen actively and the skill to express yourself in a clear, concise and effective way. Sometimes we listen, but we do not hear. Active listening involves paying active attention in order to gain a better understanding. Expressing yourself effectively may require adapting yourself to your audience and the situation.
Stress management
Life is becoming more stressful and unpredictable. Stress can lead to physical and psychological problems, especially if not managed. Learning what techniques work for you and what does not, will help you remain resilient and bounce back from challenges quickly.
Integrity
Honesty, trust, and consistently doing the right thing is beneficial to society and you. It helps preserve respect and offers a clear conscience. Take responsibility, remain truthful, keep your word and engage in activities/ decisions that are above board.
Learning desire
The world is changing. We can either grow with it, or stagnate. An insatiable curiosity to learn leads to more success, a sense of purpose and confidence.
Open mindedness
Remaining open to the ideas and input of others allows us to grow, to understand others better and to try things in a different way.
Self-awareness
Self-awareness involves being aware of your motivations, decisions and actions; and knowing how these affects those around you. It allows us to grow and function optimally. Without self-awareness we can easily make the same interpersonal mistakes over and over. Once mastered it is likely to take you to new interpersonal heights and improve your emotional intelligence.
Sense of humor
Life can be very serious at times. Humor helps people survive in difficult situations: helps us deal with pain, stress and problems. It reminds us that things are not always as bad as they seem. Learn to have tactful, pleasant fun that does not cause harm. Learn to see the funny side of life. Laughing improves mental & physical health and boosts attractiveness.
Time management
Do your days sometimes feel too short? Time management has never been more important. In order to get everything done we need to prioritize and manage our time effectively. If you work too slowly or if you are too much of a perfectionist, you may need to learn how to manage time better and work faster. Setting time goals may help you get through everything in your day.
Teamwork
Not everyone is a good team player. Some people prefer to work alone. Even if this is the case, teamwork and networking remains important. No one can work in complete isolation. Some interaction, and the skill to work with others, even on an irregular basis, remains important in any job.
Adaptability
We can be sure of one thing in life - change. If you are unable to adapt to change, you will not be happy. Whilst not everyone enjoys change, being adaptable when change occurs, is crucial. An optimally functioning individual should exhibit some flexibility in their behavioural style.
